On Thursday I rode my horse over to a new stable. He is trying to figure out what the schedule is (so am I) and making new friends. Eerie, his new buddy and him play halter tag between the fences. They may go out together in the future if they get along, then they can really play.

Spent part of the morning with a friend I hadn’t seen in almost 20 years. We managed to get back into yacking almost right away and of course she had a slew of animals, so I was in my element. I got to play with two young raccoons and bottle feed one of them. Also got up close and personal with an iguana “Waldo”, lots of dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, you name it!!! My kind of living…

Just a few of the animals I got to spend some time with today… -
Yesterday’s weather was wonderful, so a trip down to Old Montreal was in order. My sister & her friend, plus my son and I went. There were lots of people there enjoying the sights, having wine and great smelling meals on the various terraces, lots of weddings and bells ringing as well as soccer fans galore! We finished up our voyage by eating at a restaurant in China Town.

I am strolling across the street…
Dogs belonging to homeless people chilling…plus they don’t need leashes.
Caleche…the horses all looked tired….or bored -
It was a lovely evening to drive to the Ottawa area and see the RCMP Musical Ride. The temperature out was beautiful, and Ontario doesn’t seem to have any bugs…at least not where we were…LOL
After the ride, which lasted about 40 minutes, bands and speeches were first, a visit to the stables was in order. That lasted two hours!! Talk about, clean and roomy. Here is a photo of a small part, the standing stalls.

RIP Copper
I have lived without you for a whole year now.
I miss you…When your day seems out of balance
And so many things go wrong
When people fight around you
And the clock drags on so long…When most folks act like children
And fill you with remorse
Go out into your pasture
Wrap your arms around your horse. His gentle breath enfolds you
As he watches with those eyes
He may not have a PhD
But he is, oh, so wise! His head rests on your shoulder
You embrace him good and tight;
He puts your world in balance
And makes it seem all right.Your tears will soon stop flowing
Then tension will be eased.
The nonsense has been lifted
You are quiet and at peace. So when you need some balance
From the stresses in your day,
The best therapy you can seek
Is out there eating hay!(Author Unknown)
